Q: In my dream, there were two very large, beautiful ornate doors. They appeared to be very old and were the kind you might see in a fairy-tale illustration (Cinderella doors). I saw them when I looked out my bedroom window. It was rain ing and they were floating slowly by in the flooded street below. (The streets in my neighborhood always flood with heavy rain, so this is not out of the norm.) I got excited about seeing the doors and ran into the living room. I asked someone in the room to help me retrieve the doors. The per son agreed but asked me what I planned to do with the doors. I wasn't sure. I ran back to the window, looked out and they were gone.
I'm not sure what transpired next, but I felt disappointed.
This prompted me to knock on my neighbor's door. When my neighbor answered the door, he was grinning and in a happy mood. He told me he had found the doors. Then my dream.

A: Doors symbolize opportunities and potential change. The No. 2 signifies a couple, as in a romance. I feel you've met this man. Obviously you're longing for a Cinderella fairy-tale romance. The doors were beautiful and ornate. They were also very large and old. Psychically I feel you want a partner who is an old soul. He should have the dashing good looks of a Prince Charming. You're stuck in a time warp. You long for elegance and chivalry in a love situation. The bedroom window represents your sexual life. The doors were not within reach. They were floating by, out of your grasp and not in your boudoir. Your lover is exciting but unobtainable at this time.
The rain represents your sadness, as in teardrops. The flood is an overflow of emotion. You want your Prince Charming, yet you can't consummate this crush you have for the knight in shining armor. So you run to the safety of the living room and find someone there. I think he's the man of your dreams. You want help. You want him. When he asks you about what you intend to do with the doors, you are unsure. You're confused and ambivalent about this potential relationship. Again, you look out the window. He's gone. Lost opportunity. You felt disappointed and sad: ""I could have had him.'' Finally, everyone else is happy in the dream and satisfied because they have your doors. This dream is telling you that no one else can steal your happiness. You must be more realistic and grounded when it comes to love. Make up your mind or your window of opportunity will be lost again.
Q: I seem to always have a lone monarch butterfly around me. It doesn't matter where I go or what I might be doing, this beautiful butterfly is with me. Wherever I am … grocery store, beach, parking lot, my deck, my car … the butterfly is there. While I was on a recent vacation out of state, I noticed that a monarch butterfly was always with me. Now that it's cold outside, my butterfly friend has gone away in real life and entered my dreams. Twice, I've had dreams I can't remember, but in the end of those dreams, a lone butterfly is flitting around … my butterfly. I know I am always happy and serene when I wake up.
A: The butterfly symbolizes the transformation of your spiritual being. The monarch butterfly colors are black, orange and yellow … all the colors of your chakras (the energy field that runs along your spinal column). Certain cultures believe in the power of your energy field and your chakra power. Black, at the base of your spine, can be the first grounding color.
Black denotes stability and clarity of thought. Orange is second. There, your creativity and sensibilities are heightened. Yellow, in your solar plexus, is for intuition: going with your first impressions is this color's strength. You mention a lone butterfly. The No. 1 signifies a new beginning. This dream is wonderful and promises happiness, serenity and joy. Enjoy your journey of self-discovery.
